The Dragon Talk podcast livestream showed off a couple more cards coming to Magic in Adventures in the Forgotten Realms.
As part of the Summer of Legend — specifically, the Week of Legend Lore — Dragon Talk gave us Flumph and Tasha’s Hideous Laughter. Check out the two rares below.
Flumph are friendly monsters in Dungeons & Dragons and the Magic card version is a new defensive tool that helps out the controller and an opponent.
This Jellyfish can roadblock many early creatures to protect your life total, but the cost of doing so is giving each player (in a two-player match) a card each time. This is another example of giving white card drawing that WotC has hinted at over the past couple of years.
Next up is a new sorcery Mill players are going to love.
Tasha is a longtime character from Dungeons & Dragons and her laughter is going to be sweet music to Mill players’ ears.
Three mana for a massive potential mill effect, though it isn’t technically milling because it exiles the cards. Nonetheless, this card aids in decking an opponent, so it can supercharge Mill in matchups where opponents aren’t playing expensive spells. Of course, it can also be used to disrupt combo decks that depend on specific cards being in their library as well.
What do you think of Flumph and Tasha’s Hideous Laughter? Will they be Standard staples or role players in other formats?
