First printed as an uncommon in New Phyrexia, Dismember immediately had a profound impact on the game, allowing players to trade life for discounted spot removal. Dismember lives on in many black-based decks in Modern and beyond, and has been reprinted four times, with the fifth coming in Time Spiral Remastered.
Previewed alongside Dismember, were seven other well-known removal spells: Slaughter Pact, Sudden Death, Assassinate, Dark Withering, Feebleness, Strangling Soot, and Ichor Slick!
