Cyberpunk TCG, a new trading card game being created by Weird Co. and CD Projekt Red, has become the most-funded tabletop game in the history of Kickstarter.
The game, which is based on the IP of Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk world that all started with a tabletop RPG called Cyberpunk 2013 back in 1998, has rocketed past the $15M mark and only appears to be going higher. It surpassed Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere RPG, which maxed out at $15,148,874 on August 29, 2024 after running for just 23 days. The Cyberpunk TCG Kickstarter sits at $15,743,814 at the time of publication after starting on March 17. It will run until April 17.

Since Pondsmith’s initial creation, the Cyberpunk IP has ventured into multiple TTRPGs, an anime, and the wildly successful Cyberpunk 2077 video game, which has sold more than 35 million copies since its 2020 release.
The Cyberpunk TCG’s Kickstarter page states order fulfillment will begin in Q3 2026 for Wave 1 and continue in Q4 of 2026 for Wave 2. As for the game’s retail release, Weird Co.’s website claims Kickstarter orders and Beta booster displays, including event kits, will be shipped a few months before the full retail release. More information and updates about exact launch dates will be announced later. Cyberpunk TCG can be preordered by retailers in the United States exclusively through GTS Distribution.

The game appears to be targeted for two-player games that last around 15 minutes. Gameplay revolves around players assembling an edgerunner crew of characters from across the Cyberpunk franchise to battle opposing crews for street cred while securing gigs, represented by dice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20). Players need to hold six gigs to win and use legends, units, gear, and programs to earn and keep those gigs.
The Cyberpunk TCG joins other successfully funded TCGs on Kickstarter like Sorcery: Contested Realm, Altered TCG, Grand Archive, and Epic Card Game, though Altered TCG recently announced it is shutting down after not being able to fund future sets.
