Five Lurrus of the Dream-Den decks spread over four archetypes made the Top 8 of the Pioneer Super Qualifier with Brener taking it down with Boros Burn. All eight decks played companions with the Lurrus decks breaking down to two copies of Boros Burn, one Boros Heroic, one Jund, and one Hardened Scales. The other three were Yorion Orzhov Doom Foretold, Yorion Jeskai Lukka, and Zirda Jeskai Cycling.

Brener defeated msskinbolic in the finals 2-0,. beating the newest take on Lurrus decks — Boros Heroic. Heroic combines elements from the old Heroic deck from original Theros block and the newer version with Feather, the Redeemed.

While ditching Feather, the new Pioneer build uses Favored Hoplite, Dreadhorde Arcanist, and Tenth District Legionnaire alongside prowess creatures to round out a robust creature suite that is all able to be replayed with Lurrus.

The other notable decks were current Standard decks getting the Pioneer treatment. Yorion Jeskai Lukka takes the current front runner in Ikoria Standard and adds Supreme Verdict, Baffling End, and Gideon of the Trials while improving the mana base as well.

The Pioneer build is a bit less all-in on tokens into Agent of Treachery, but gets a Karn, the Great Creator toolbox to shore up the deck’s weaknesses.

Meanwhile, Zirda Jeskai Cycling cuts many of the creatures from the Ikoriaa Standard build and gets more removal and card drawing in cards like Cast Out, Hieroglyphic Illumination, Censor, and Supreme Verdict.

This build of Cycling swaps companions from Lurrus to Zirda, and only has Flourishing Fox and Nimble Obstructionist as its creatures. Zenith Flare is still there to win games out of nowhere, but the deck also utilizes Shark Typhoon as another cycling/threat split card.
