The German Youtuber previewed the card in an Instagram story. What looks to be an English physical copy of the card appeared on Reddit this morning.
Burning-Rune Demon is much more than a six-mana 6/6 flyer. Let’s tackle the massive textbox on the card.
When Burning-Rune Demon enters the battlefield, you may search your library for exactly two cards not named Burning-Rune Demon that have different names. If you do, reveal those cards. An opponent chooses one of them. Put the chosen card into your hand and the other into your graveyard, then shuffle your library.
This Demon Berserker allows you to play a mini version of Fact of Fiction with an opponent, netting you a card in your hand and a card in your graveyard. While you can’t grab two more Burning-Rune Demons to keep the chain going, you can select two cards with escape or another graveyard-relevant ability like flashback to get max value.
Of course, if you have copies of cards with similar abilities, you can make sure to get the type of spell you want. Need mass removal? Grab Shatter the Sky and Realm-Cloaked Giant. Targeted removal? Tutor up Heartless Act and Bloodchief’s Thirst. A counterspell? Find Neutralize and Didn’t Say Please.
