Arena Open Returns In May With Strixhaven Sealed

Strixhaven Sealed is the name of the game for the next Arena Open on May 8-9.

The Arena Open is back for a sixth time, bringing back the popular Sealed format after the trial run with the format in February.

The Arena Open is set for May 8-9 and will feature Strixhaven Sealed, with Best-of-One and Best-of-Three offerings for Day 1 play. Players will get a new Sealed pool on Day 2 and all cards opened go to players’ collections.

Entry to the May Arena Open costs 22,500 gold or 4,500 gems and comes with two different entry rewards depending on the structure used. Players participating in the Best-of-One queue get the Rowan card sleeve and players in the Best-of-Three queue receive the Will card sleeve. Players can play in both events on Day 1 to receive both sleeves.

The Arena Open begins at 11 AM ET/8 AM PT on May 8 with the signup period ending at 8 AM ET/5 AM PT May 9.

Players competing in the Best-of-One flight need to reach seven wins before three losses to reach Day 2, while players in Best-of-Three need to hit four wins before one loss to move on to the second day of competition. All prizes will be awarded as gems until reaching six or seven wins on Day 2, with cash prizes of $1,000 and $2,000 going to the top players. Prizes for records on Day 1 break down like this:

Decks are not locked in after initial builds, so players can tweak their Sealed deck between matches. The event ends 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on May 9.
