SCG CON Columbus is in the books! Check out all the winners over the weekend and the decklists from the two Modern 20Ks, a Modern 10K, and the Flesh and Blood Battle Hardened and Nationals Last Chance Qualifier winners.

Modern 20K #1

Ross Merriam won the first of two Modern 20Ks with Izzet Breach.


Merriam, who was coming off a runner-up finish in the SCG CON Baltimore Team Constructed event, defeated Andrew Vorel on Temur Scapeshift in the finals. Both finalists earned invites to Regional Championship at DreamHack Atlanta. Merriam won $3,000 while Vorel won $2,000.

Modern 20K #2

Brady Munroe won the second of two Modern 20Ks with Prison Tron.


Munroe took home the first-place prize of $3,000 by defeating Duo Yang, on Jund Midrange, in the finals. Munroe’s colorless build of Tron focused on Prison elements, opting for a Karn, the Great Creator sideboard package rather than cards from any color. Both players grabbed invites to Regional Championship at DreamHack Atlanta.

Modern 10K

Raja Sulaiman won the Modern 10K on Sunday with Azorius Control (Kaheera) after making Top 4 of the first Modern 20K with the same deck.


Sulaiman defeated David Nolan, on Izzet Midrange, in the finals to take home $2,000 and an invite for the Regional Championship at Dreamhack Atlanta.

Nationals Last Chance Qualifier

Hunter Finkbeiner won the Classic Constructed US Nationals Last Chance Qualifier with Viserai, Rune Blood.

Finkbeiner defeated Daniel Rothhaar, on Bravo, Showstopper, in the finals. The Top 8 consisted of two copies of Oldhim, Grandfather of Eternity, and single copies of Viserai, Rune Blood, Bravo, Showstopper, Briar, Warden of Thorns, Iyslander, Stormbind, Fai, Rising Rebellion, and Dromai, Ash Artist.

Battle Hardened

Ryan Rich won the 110-person Classic Constructed Battle Hardened event with Oldhim, Grandfather of Eternity.

Rich outlasted Matt Dilks, on Dash, Inventor Extraordinaire, in the finals, to take home the gold cold foil New Horizon. Both players earned PTIs and $500 for making the finals.
