Following preview season tradition, Magic: The Gathering Head Designer, Mark Rosewater, has shared a teaser for Edge of Eternities to his Blogatog.

While each bullet provides a partial hint for things to come within the set, a few of the more interesting details include another “Arch” charm, a variant on the devour mechanic, a poison card, and a card that lets you take control of an opponent.

Some tidbits of rules text that appears on cards includes: “The first spell each player casts during each of their turns may be cast without paying its mana cost.”, Spells you cast have affinity for artifacts.”, and “Whenever you play a land or cast a spell, draw a card.”

Additionally, Rosewater shared several of the creature types being included in the set: Legendary Creature – Lobster Citizen, Creature – Jellyfish Scientist, Artifact Creature – Robot Pangolin, and Creature – Eldrazi.

The teaser ends with some fun card names coming in Edge of Eternities. Lost in Space Secret Lair anyone?

With just these hints we see a new twist on an old mechanic, return of the Eldrazi, possibly the return of Slivers, Robots, and more.

So what do you think of Rosewater’s teaser? Are there any specific hints that stick out to you? Let us know your theories!

Previews for Edge of Eternities start July 8.
