A few new Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek cards were revealed at STLV: Trek to Vegas, a massive convention dedicated to all things Star Trek, this weekend in Las Vegas.

First up is Open Communication, this set’s version of the one-mana cantrip with upside. Beam me up acts as a new twist on flashback, allowing a player to cast the card from the graveyard if they also return a creature they control to their hand. The card feels a lot like Think Twice, but is a sorcery which takes away the flexibility of the classic draw spell from Time Spiral.

Christine Chapel, Combat Medic is another take on the Ajani’s Pridemate type creature that rewards you for gaining life. At four mana, Christine Chapel is more expensive to cast, but she also brings an ETB that gains you life equal to the number of differently named lands you control.

General Chang, Cold Warrior is the latest creature functioning as a sacrifice outlet, but is a payoff for playing Klingons. The only version shown off this weekend is a Booster Fun treatment that happens to feature a more stylized black mana symbol that is a hexagon instead of a circle.
Which of the previews excites you the most?
