Preview season for Modern Horizons 3 is just around the corner, and Wizards of the Coast (WotC) is starting things off with a look back at the Magic: The Gathering storyline from nearly a decade ago, when the Gatewatch assembled to fend off the interstellar threat of the Eldrazi.

Monday and Wednesday gave us our first glimpses of a handful of new Eldrazi, and today we have three more, including a preprint coming in the Commander deck.

We’ll start with the rare from the main set — Echoes of Eternity!

This kindred enchantment costs six mana, but it acts as a Panharmonicon for colorless spells and permanents you control. On top of that, whenever you cast a colorless spell you copy it and may choose new targets for it. What’s better than one Eldrazi, two, of course!

Next up are a couple of commons from the main set.

Basking Broodscale is a two-mana 2/2 Eldrazi Lizard with devoid. It can be pumped up with adapt to create an Eldrazi Spawn creature token for some nice value on a serviceable body in Limited. If you can find ways to put more +1/+1 counters on it, you get even more Eldrazi Spawn tokens.

Petrifying Meddler is five-mana 4/5 with devoid and reach that plays into its blue casting cost by tapping and putting a stun counter on a creature when you cast it.

Lastly, Drowner of Hope is a creature from the Eldrazi Incursion Commander deck from Modern Horizons 3 getting a reprint with new art.

Originally from Battle for Zendikar, Drowner of Hope was not only a Limited bomb, but a player in Standard as well. Three bodies for one and disruption that scales with the amount of creatures or toekns you can create.

So what do you think of these new cards? If you’ve never read the Eldrazi storyline, you can head over to the Magic mothership to catch up.

Modern Horizons 3 is scheduled to release on June 14. View our official preview gallery.
