While the First Look for Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek™ dropped Tuesday, events celebrating the set will run throughout 2026 with many featuring awesome promo cards from the upcoming Universes Beyond offering.
Starting next week at San Diego Comic Con, fans can check out digital showcases, oversized cards, an interactive display, and even see Gavin Verhey, the lead designer of the set, at the legendary convention. San Diego Comic Con runs from July 23-26 at the San Diego Convention Center. Pick up a Kirk, Enterprising Captain, promo card while supplies last.
In August, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) is sponsoring the 2026 STLV: Trek To Vegas convention — a massive gathering of all things Star Trek. Star Trek Las Vegas will be the first time players can get their hands on the Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek™ Welcome Decks ahead of its November release. This event will also feature Magic: First Contact, a learn-to-play experience with guided demos to welcome new players into MTG. Verhey will also be in Las Vegas to present a panel on how Magic crammed 60 years of Star Trek history into one set. The Kirk, Enterprising Captain, promo card will also be available in Las Vegas while supplies last.
New York Comic Con attendees can get a Borg Queen, Perfection Manifest promo card while supplies last from October 8-11.
MagicCon: Atlanta takes place on November 13-15 and will have special events and unique promos. MagicCon: Atlanta attendees can grab Star Trek-themed promos of Explore and Fact of Fiction with new art.
The events conclude with PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia on December 4-6. More interactive experiences, learn-to-play events, and other unannounced events will take place at the massive tabletop gaming convention.
