Hasbro and Legendary Entertainment have announced that Noah Gardner & Aidan Fitzgerald will be the Screenwriters for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering live-action film.

Originally announced back in February, the Magic live-action film is part of a large-scale media project that also includes plans for a television franchise. Both live-action projects are being produced as part of a partnership between Hasbro and Legendary Entertainment and are separate from the Magic: The Gathering animated series coming to Netflix.
While they aren’t exactly household names, Gardner & Fitzgerald have worked with Hasbro in the past, acting as the writers for a Power Rangers film that has since been cancelled. The duo has also written for other major studios like Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Entertainment, 20th Century Studios, and more.
Despite a lack of official project updates directly from Hasbro or Legendary, small information drops like this one from Deadline and the Director candidate rumors from last month, at least point to progress being made.
