Thanks to the overwhelming interest in the $100,000 Limited Open being held at MagicCon Las Vegas, Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has announced they are adding a $75,000 Limited Open to MagicCon Barcelona, July 28-30.
Boasting “a large prize pool and the chance to win invitations to our first 2024 Pro Tour taking place at MagicCon: Chicago”, this multi-day tournament will cost €135 to enter and will require participants to have a Friday and Saturday MagicCon: Barcelona badge.
Formats
- Day 1 (Friday, July 28) – The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Sealed Deck
- Eight Rounds of Swiss.
- Players with 18 or more match points advance to Day 2.
- Day 2 (Saturday, July 29) – The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Draft
- Two three-round The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth drafts. Top 8 players advance to a final draft on Sunday.
- All players with 36 match points, a match record of 12–2 or better, or a Top 8 finish, whichever is greater, qualify for the Pro Tour.
- Day 3 Top 8 (Sunday, July 30) – The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Single-Elimination Booster Draft
