For decades, parents have trusted Good Housekeeping‘s annual list of Best New Toys to determine the top gifts for their kids during the holiday season.
This year, not only has the Disney Lorcana trading card game (TCG) made the list, but also placed a respectable twelfth. While other Disney-related toys are commonplace on Good Housekeeping’s lists, TCGs in general are rare. In fact, Disney Lorcana’s The First Chapter is the lone TCG to be featured on this year’s list.
Despite the game’s debut back in August being plagued by allocation issues, the overwhelming demand has already cemented Ravensburger’s new TCG as one of the hottest new toys, and with the holiday season rapidly approaching, the scramble to find cards will likely be chaotic. Thankfully, Ravensburger has confirmed that a second wave of product, plus a full reprinting of The First Chapter, will be arriving by year’s end. Not to mention Rise of the Floodborn, Disney Lorcana’s second set, will be available next month.
