The scheduled Banned & Suspended announcement for Flesh and Blood brings big changes to the Blitz format.
Legend Story Studios (LSS) opted to go with no changes for Classic Constructed following the Pro Tour in Baltimore this past weekend, but Blitz is getting quite the shakeup.
Iyslander and Oldhim crossed the 500-point threshold to become Living Legends in the Blitz format, retiring them and their signature weapons Kraken’s Aethervein and Winter’s Wail. In addition to the Living Legend updates, these changes are also taking place on May 5:
- Drone of Brutality moves from banned to legal
- Aether Icevein moves from suspended to legal
- Crown of Seeds moves from suspended to legal
- Hypothermia moves from suspended to legal
Aether Icevein, Crown of Seeds, and Hypothermia were all scheduled to come off the suspended list following Iyslander and Oldhim reached Living Legend. Drone of Brutality, however, was the first Flesh and Blood card to ever be banned.
Blitz is in a much different shape and plays at a different speed now than it did when the card was banned in March of 2021. LSS hopes unbanning Drone of Brutality will give new life to midrange and control decks in the format.

While no heroes reached Living Legend in Classic Constructed, Oldhim got a boost from Michael Feng winning the Pro Tour with him. The Grandfather of Eternity sits at 888 points and will leave the format once he hits 1,000.
Lastly, Go Bananas, a promotional card, was banned in Ultimate Pit Fight (Flesh and Blood’s multiplayer format). While the format is often unsanctioned, official events are run occasionally. Go Bananas can be cumbersome to resolve, break the rules of the format, and is considered pay-to-win. LSS encourages the card to be played at the kitchen table or with house rules that limit resolving the card to three packs.

The next Banned & Suspended announcement is scheduled for July 3, 2023.
