James White, the creator of Flesh and Blood, unveiled the next Hero coming to the game at Pro Tour Lille today — Emperor, Dracai of Aesir!
White had already hinted that the Emperor was getting his own card in November’s Dynasty, but now we get to see that he is a Young hero with 15 life points. And take a look at the type of hero the Emperor is — the first Royal Draconic Warrior Wizard!
The Emperor has quite the restriction of only being able to play red pitch cards, but for that sacrifice you have an ability that lets you fire off a Command and Conquer from your deck by paying three resources. This means in Blitz you can activate this twice, assuming you don’t have a way to shuffle Command and Conquers back into your deck from your graveyard.
If you’re playing the Emperor, it’s clear you’ll have the maximum copies of Command and Conquer, but what direction do you take the cake from there? Do you lean into the Warrior side or the Wizard side?
