Everything You Need To Know About SCG CON Indianapolis

Check out all the Magic: The Gathering and Flesh and Blood events happening at SCG CON Indianapolis.

SCG CON Indianapolis kicks off this weekend and features all the Flesh and Blood and Magic: The Gathering action you can handle over three days. From team tournaments, side events, and the first Calling of 2022, SCG CON Indianapolis is a can’t-miss weekend of gaming.

Friday

Team Blitz Beatdown

The SCG CON action all starts on Friday for those wanting to get as much gaming in as possible. Flesh and Blood players can enter the Team Blitz Beatdown, where squads of three all bring a different hero and play Blitz matches for six rounds of Swiss. The event starts at 3 PM on March 18 and entry fee is $60 per team. Prizes are paid out by number of team wins:

  • 6 Wins: 3000 Prize Wall Tickets
  • 5 Wins: 1500 Prize Wall Tickets
  • 4 Wins: 900 Prize Wall Tickets
  • 3 Wins: 300 Prize Wall Tickets

Saturday

Calling: Indianapolis

The Calling: Indianapolis is a two-day Classic Constructed tournament. Day 1 will have a number of Swiss rounds based off attendance with a cut to Day 2, which consists of five more rounds of Swiss followed by a single-elimination Top 8 bracket. Entry fee is $50 and comes with a rainbow foil extended art Arcanic Shockwave while supplies last. Day 1 begins at 10 AM ET on March 19. The $20,000 prize pool breakdown can be seen below:

  • 1st: $7,000.00, Gold Cold Foil Extended Art Fyendal’s Spring Tunic, Pro Tour Invitation*
  • 2nd: $3,000.00, Random Gold Foil Legendary, Pro Tour Invitation*
  • 3rd-4th: $1,000.00, Random Gold Foil Legendary, Pro Tour Invitation*
  • 5th-8th: $800.00, Random Gold Foil Legendary, Pro Tour Invitation*
  • 9th-32nd: $200.00

PTIs are good for an entry to the player’s choice of any future professional Flesh and Blood event (Nationals, Pro Tours, or World Championship). The Calling: Indianapolis is one of the last four events that will award the golden cold foil extended art Fyendal’s Spring Tunic ever. Along with the upcoming Callings in Krakow, Taipei, and New Jersey, Indianapolis will be the last chance to get your hands on the iconic legendary in golden cold foil as no more copies will be produced.

Players looking for more rewards can register with the Answer the Call! Main Events Package (only 300 available) for $80 to receive three copies of the Rainbow Foil Extended Art Arcanic Shockwave, a limited edition Tales of Aria storage box, and entry to the Calling and Battle Hardened event on Sunday. Players in the Calling that make Day 2, and are unable to participate in the Battle Hardened event, receive 300 prize wall tickets.

Sunday

Battle Hardened

For anyone who doesn’t make Day 2 of the Calling, a Classic Constructed Battle Hardened event is set for 9 AM on Sunday with the top two finishers receiving PTIs. The event is six rounds of Swiss followed by a cut to Top 8 and a single elimination bracket to determine who gets to a snag a PTI. Entry fee is $40. The prizes for Top 8 can be seen below:

  • 1st: $500.00, Pro Tour Invitation, Curated Gold Cold Foil Legendary, Exclusive Battle Hardened Playmat
  • 2nd: $500.00 + Pro Tour Invitation, Exclusive Battle Hardened Playmat
  • 3rd-4th: $250.00, Exclusive Battle Hardened Playmat
  • 5th-8th: $125.00, Exclusive Battle Hardened Playmat

Friday

Team Constructed 25K Trials

Players looking to get some practice in for the Team Constructed 25K or earn a bye for Round 1 of the main event can play in of the three Team Constructed 25K Trials on Friday. The flights start at 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM, and 4:30 PM on March 18 with an entry fee of $75 per team. Teams that go 5-0 earn a coveted Round 1 bye and a bunch of prize wall tickets. Full prizes can be seen below:

  • 15 Match Points: 3,000 Prize Wall Tickets + Round One Bye in the Team $25K Main Event
  • 13 Match Points: 2,250 Prize Wall Tickets
  • 12 Match Points: 1,500 Prize Wall Tickets
  • 10 Match Points: 900 Prize Wall Tickets
  • 9 Match Points: 300 Prize Wall Tickets

Saturday

Team Constructed 25K

The main event for Magic players is the Team Constructed 25K. Squads bring players on Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy and battle it out over two days with a first-place prize of $7,500. Day 1 features eight rounds of Swiss with a cut to the Top 20 teams or any team with 18 or more match points. Day 2 includes five more rounds of Swiss followed by a single-elimination bracket for the Top 6 teams (the top two seeds receive a bye in the first round). Entry fee is $210 per team. Day 1 begins at 9 AM ET on March 19. The $25,000 prize pool breakdown can be seen below:

  • 1st: $7,500.00
  • 2nd: $3,000.00
  • 3rd-4th: $2,100.00
  • 5th-6th: $1,500.00
  • 7th-8th: 900.00
  • 9th- 16th: $750.00

Sunday

Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy 5Ks

For players on teams that don’t make Day 2 there is still plenty more Magic to be played. There is a 5K in each format on Sunday for anyone still looking to battle. Modern starts at 9 AM, Pioneer at 9:30 AM, and Legacy at 10 AM on March 20. Entry fee for the individual 5Ks is $50. The prize pool breakdowns for the 5Ks can be seen below:

  • 2nd: $700.00
  • 3rd-4th: $500.00
  • 5th-8th: $250.00
  • 9th-16th: $100.00

Weekend Long Packages

Commander Celebration

For those wanting to play as much Commander as possible, the Commander Celebration is available for $80. The package grants access to the Command Zone all weekend, non-foil Sol Ring and Path of Ancestry promo cards, Path of Ancestry playmat, deck box, four Commander pod vouchers, and a badge and lanyard.

Infinite Challenges

The Magic Infinite Challenge package allows you to enter as many of the Challenges (more than 30 scheduled) on the weekend for the low price of $150 via online registration. Entry also comes with the choice of one of more than 20 playmats on the prize wall. The Flesh and Blood Infinite Constructed Go Again package allows a player to enter any Blitz or Classic Constructed side event all weekend and comes with three Arcanic Shockwave rainbow foil promos and a Tales of Aria Limited Edition storage box for $150.
