I am an expert cheat. I practice cheating in Magic games on a very consistent basis. I’ve cheated at every kind of tournament; from FNM, PTQs, to Grand Prix events, Nationals, even the Pro Tour. I’ve cheated against many of the game’s best and most talented players. The best part is that no one has ever caught me, and until now no one has ever had a clue… DISCLAIMER: Don’t believe everything you read…

Down and Dirty — Mono-Blue Snow

Last weekend, I had the honor of watching South Texas’s finest compete in Regionals. Sadly, none of the finest made Top 8, and when the dust settled we were left with a new crop of Texas champions. While I was judging, one deck in particular caught my eye: a Mono-Blue Snow deck, featuring a ton of permission spells backed up with Teferi, and Aeon Chronicler as the kill condition.

Always the Bridesmaid, Never the Bride – Two PTQ Reports

With John Fiorillo winging his way to Geneva, there’s a change to our advertised schedule today. Kyle Sanchez steps into John’s shoes, and regales us with the sorry tale of two PTQ appearences, both piloting an interesting homebrew deck that Kyle initially offered to the U.S National team for Worlds. Given that Kyle has made the final of both the PTQs in question, maybe they were hasty in dismissing the deck so quickly…

Battle Royale Round 14 – Eyesore of the Storm

StarCityGames.com - Battle Royale!
All in all, Kyle has not had a good Christmas. Battle Royale loss, unwanted gifts, and a car accident on Christmas Eve… not a great way to spend the holidays. Still, the New Year is coming, and things can only get better… or can they?

Battle Royale Round 14 – Channeling Doc

StarCityGames.com - Battle Royale!

Last week, Kyle put paid to Eli with a fast and furious Sliver deck. This week, it’s time for something completely different. Aggro has been done. Control is old hat. But Combo? That’s the ticket!

Battle Royale Round 13 – Slivering To Victory

StarCityGames.com - Battle Royale!
Friday, 1st of December, 2006

The dark sky flashed and the clouds became illuminated as bolts of lightning struck down across my precious city. I had a date with Eli, and I couldn’t disappoint. I’d had power problems the entire day, but the battle must go on…

Battle Royale 13 – Snow Slivers!

StarCityGames.com - Battle Royale!I would imagine it would be hard being a Sliver. I mean, you meet a new friend one day and up sprouts an extra head out of nowhere. Then another friend joins the group and your arms turn into some kind of weapon. Then one of them goes away and your extra head disappears. Another one comes down and you start shooting webs out of your butt or you grow spines on your back. Seems like it would be frustrating, to say the least.
