This Isn’t Jeopardy – A StarCity Contest!

Hey. You. Wanna win some stuff? Know something about Magic storylines? Well, why not try your hand at Daniel’s latest trivia quiz?

Next week, I have the opportunity to leave my normal life behind. This is great for me, but my writing will, of course, take a one-article hit. So, my solution was to create an article that would span two weeks. How would I accomplish this? Well, I didn?t – but I did come up with the next best thing. And, in doing so, you get the chance to win a cool prize.

That is, if you?re smart enough…

As you may have guessed from the title, this contest will be run in a Jeopardy-like fashion. In this article, I?ll present categories of questions, each with five questions of increasing difficulty. From here, though, I have to modify the rules to be playable in Internet format. Let?s get to the rules, and then let the games begin!

There will be five categories, each with five questions. Each question will be worth a number of points (1-5), and the more difficult questions will be found under more hefty point values. You may choose to answer any number of questions; for each correct answer, you will receive that many points, and for each incorrect answer, you will lose that many points. After two weeks, I?ll release the answers and the top three finalists, who will compete in a Final Jeopardy-esque round. They?ll bid points after hearing the category of question, with the winner taking home a prize based upon the amount of points he or she amasses.

There?s one final catch: All five categories will deal with Magic?s storyline, ancient and brand-new. This is an opportunity for storyline buffs such as myself to truly shine. However, don?t let that discount you if you don?t know everything about the story – several low-scoring answers can overtake a few high-scoring answers.

Without further ado, I present the questions!
