The Magic Show #75 – Worlds 2007, Part 2

Watch Evan Erwin every Friday... on StarCityGames.com!
Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of the Magic Show. This week I wrap up my Worlds experience by talking to players about Lorwyn draft, favorite first picks, show you the most exciting match in a long time, and go in-depth into the wild world of Dragonstorm.

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of the Magic Show. This week I wrap up my Worlds experience by talking to players about Lorwyn draft, favorite first picks, show you the most exciting match in a long time, and go in-depth into the wild world of Dragonstorm.

I’d like to thank everyone once again, from those who donated to those who I spoke to at Worlds. There’s always ifs and buts that hold things back (if I had the vacation time to get up there on Wednesday instead of Friday, if my flight hadn’t been cancelled, if I had talked to so-and-so), but I tried my best to bring you the coverage you crave. I aim to please, as it were.

Also, big shout out to my boy Ferrett for thinking about tossing his hat into the video article realm. From who can only be described as a brilliant writer, who knows what video madness will come out. To this (and to anyone thinking of entering this medium), I say: Don’t give up. Yes you will have off-weeks, bad weeks, things that go wrong, things that go right. It will take time, patience, and (a truckload of) hard work. On average, each Magic Show takes about 9-12 hours. Yes, hours. It’s a gig that requires a lot of effort, but provides a lot of reward.

Lastly, here is the latest and greatest Dragonstorm list from its creator, Chris Sutton. For more info on how he came up with the deck and sideboarding plans, you’ll have to watch the episode.

So until next time Magic players, this is Evan Erwin, tapping the cards so you don’t have to.

PS — I got a special request from Patrick Chapin that Michael J. Flores plans on a little fudging of a conversation they had. So for posterity’s sake, here’s the conversation from Chapin’s side of things:

[Pchapin] Heezy Red Fever? What are you doing to me, Flores?
[Flores] What should I call it? Innovator Dragonstorm? Chapin Dragonstorm?
[Pchapin] Call whatever you want, even if it is just Spinerock Dragonstorm, but please not Heezy Red Fever!
[Flores] You know, I think I am going to start my article off this week with a conversation between us.
[Pchapin] Saying what?
[Flores] I will think of some way to make you look bad. Revenge will be mine. You might think you are a giant now, but I am like a tiny Kithkin stabbing you in the foot!
