STARCITYGAMES.COM ANNOUNCES GRAND PRIX SALT LAKE CITY “GOLD RUSH” PROMOTION
ROANOKE, VA – February 28, 2012 – StarCityGames.com, the world’s largest Magic: The Gatheringâ”¢ secondary market retailer, announced today an unprecedented and innovative promotion for Grand Prix Salt Lake City, happening March 31st through April 1st, 2012. Entitled “Gold Rush,” it takes five classic Magic sets: Unlimited, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends, and The Dark, packages each card individually in specially branded envelopes, and then randomly distributes one envelope to each Grand Prix participant. The retail value of these sets combined is over $12,000.00.
If more than 923 players play in the Grand Prix, an Arabian Nights set will be added to the Gold Rush prize pool. If more than 1,015 play in the event, a set of Antiquities will be added, followed by Legends, then The Dark as attendance dictates. This cycle would then repeat, adding an additional Arabian Nights set, if more than 1,846 players play in the event.
Any remaining Gold Rush cards will be randomly distributed to players who win 8-player side events, while supplies last. At the end of the weekend, any remaining Gold Rush cards will be randomly distributed to the top finishers in Sunday’s StarCityGames.com Standard Open.
