I didn’t take a ton of other notes on the draft since I think once I decided to go five color the picks were pretty self explanatory. I also love the maindeck Swerve.

Round 1 was against BR. I killed basically everything he played in game 1 and made sure to keep up Swerve mana the entire game. Eventually he made his move with Blightning and I shipped it back at him and then finished the job with Mosstodon. Game 2 he mulled to five and while my only pressure was Jund Battlemage I was able to Bant Charm his Resounding Thunder when he hit three lands and just kill him with tokens and a couple random guys.

Round 2 I played against Bant that seemed to have worse mana than usual. Game 1 he got a slow draw and I had Thrinax on the beats while I killed his men. Jund Charm killed two Knight of the Skyward Eyes when he tapped out to pump one and then I untapped and Sigiled up my Thrinax to swing for 9 and earn the concession. Game 2 I got colorscrewed and run over. Game 3 was pretty close but it seemed like he got flooded while I played Kiss of the Amesha and reloaded. Rockcaster Platoon achieved the double activation this game taking out a pair of Waveskimmer Avens that I couldn’t really handle otherwise. Thanks to the extra life from Kiss though I was never in any danger and won pretty handily once he started flooding a bit.

In the finals I played against Naya. Game 2 he played double Naya Charm tapping me down two turns in a row for the win. Game 3 he played turn 1 Nacatl which I killed then turn 3 Thoctar and I couldn’t find Blue mana for my Bant Charm before I was way too far behind. He sealed the deal with Naya Charm again.

Until tomorrow…

Nick
