Daily Digest: Demonstrating Bant’s Prowess

For all this talk about Jeskai Black being the number one deck, there sure are a number of sweet and successful brews out there! GerryT highlights yet another Standard masterwork for #SCGDFW’s $5,000 Premier IQ!

With all these multi-colored decks running rampant, don’t you wonder if there’s something that keeps it simple? Sure, there’s Atarka Red, but that’s played
out. We need some White Weenie back in our lives.

At first glance, this deck looks like the remains of W/U Heroic. It uses some early prowess creatures to get in damage and uses Dromoka’s Command, Valorous
Stance, and Silkwrap to clear the way. Similar to G/W Megamorph, this deck also has the tools to play a long game. Ojutai’s Command, Treasure Cruise, and
Monastery Mentor are very tough to overcome in the midgame.

Myth Realized is a card that I’m not sure how good it is. It’s a potent way to fight sweepers and other sorcery speed removal, but I’m unsure past that. I
could totally see games where Myth Realized gets out of control, especially since you can protect it with Dispel and Feat of Resistance.

I hate to say it, but Jace, Vryn’s Prodigy is probably right at home here. There’s not a lot to Flashback, but there’s enough. Even if it’s just cycling a
Defiant Strike, getting a creature back with Ojutai’s Command, killing something with Dromoka’s Command, or drawing some cards with Treasure Cruise, Jace
is going to do some nice work. Ten blue sources is not enough (not counting the Knights), but the manabase can be reworked.

Either way, I think this deck is worth a second look.
