Countdown To Grand Prix Washington DC: 3 Days Out – Cosplayers!

Artists aren’t the only guests at Grand Prix Washington DC! Cedric Phillips fills in the details on the trio of official cosplayers…or should that be “Triad” instead?

Welcome back to the Grand Prix Washington DC countdown blog!

Yesterday, I introduced you to the rest of our fantastic artists who will be joining our Guest of Honor, Rob Alexander, in our Artists Alley From rk post to Noah Bradley to Ken Meyer Jr, Grand Prix Washington DC will be filled with some of Magic’s most skilled artisans happy to sign cards for you all weekend long.

But artists aren’t the only special guests who will be attending Grand Prix Washington DC. We’ll also be joined by those who bring some of your favorite cards to life – cosplayers! And for Grand Prix Washington DC, we have three of the very best.

Christine Sprankle

Veteran cosplayer Christine Sprankle attended Worlds 2011 as Elspeth Tirel, her first Magic: The Gathering costume. The result was a breakout moment not only for her but for Magic cosplay in general. Since then she has been an official cosplayer at numerous Magic: The Gathering events and will attend HASCON as the guest of Wizards of the Coast. She enjoys bringing all of her favorite characters to life. Pictures and signings are free, please just ask!

Vanessa Martin

Virginia-based cosplayer Vanessa Martin is one of the “new notables” of Magic: The Gathering cosplay. Based in Virginia, she came to prominence with her take on Nahiri, the Harbinger and will be an official Wizards of the Coast guest at HASCON. Commemorate your Grand Prix Washington DC experience by taking a picture with her!

Jessica Burton

For the past ten years, Jessica Burton has been an enthusiastic cosplayer. Since first playing Magic: The Gathering in 2009, she has made appearances at numerous events, including as an official guest at PAX West, Grand Prix Detroit, San Diego Comic Con, and Japanese convention NicoNico Chokaigi!
