Magic: The Gathering Japan’s X account has revealed the latest promo card to accompany a volume of the MTG-themed manga, Destroy All Humans. They Can’t Be Regenerated.
The manga, about two high school rivals in the 1990s who bond over Magic: The Gathering, will release Volume 17 of its collected issues on January 24, 2025. The volume comes with a Japanese-language foil promo card, Ancestral Mask.
True to the manga’s 1990s setting, the promo reprints a powerful card of the time, Ancestral Mask from the Mercadian Masques set, with the original art by Massimilano Frezzato in a present-day frame with updated card text. The previous volume’s promo card, Gush, was also from Mercadian Masques.
As of this writing, the preorder for Volume 17 of Destroy All Humans. They Can’t Be Regenerated. is available on Amazon Japan for 792 yen, or just over $5.
