There was a lot of movement in value for the cards spoiled yesterday and a batch of new cards spoiled today. Today’s article will be action packed, so let’s dive straight into the spoilers.
New Cards

Ogre Slum Lord* |
Starting Price: $1

Thoughts: “Whenever another nontoken creature you control dies, put a 1/1 black Rat creature token onto the battlefield. Rats you control have deathtouch.”
Bulk rare, but people love them some Rat decks. That’ll keep it in the $1 range, rather than the $0.50 range.
*Might not be the English name

Starting Price: $1.25

Thoughts:
Another monster Commander effect on a creature that is part of this cycle. Because there are (presumably) five of these guys, some may have their values suppressed in the short term (easier to trade the one you don’t want for the one you want)—but in the long term, both this one and the blue one I like for having casual demand.

Starting Price: $2

Thoughts:
I’m not a fan of the punisher mechanic—one where your opponent can take on pain in order to negate your effect. In the case of —the punishment might be high enough to make this work as a most of the time. The problem is, when you really, REALLY need to take a creature away from the opponent (say, to win the game by swinging or to keep yourself from dying), will never be the card that pulls your fat out of the fire. Still, the math on this card is interesting enough to see if it’s going to catch any heat. I personally think it’ll be in the $1 range before long.

Starting Price: $1

Thoughts:
Back in the day, was good enough to see play as a kill condition in Standard. There haven’t been a many—if any—repeatable mill methods that have been good enough to fuel a mill strategy for Constructed play in over a decade (not counting, of course, insta-kills like / Painter’s Servant). has that potential, and I think it is going to sneak in under the radar. I myself thought that compared unfavorably to —but throwing away creatures for the same effect over and over is perfect to win a war of attrition in the right metagame. This is the type of effect that really appeals to casual players as well. This is the type of card that is likely going to be overlooked by the majority of people in the short-term but will gain in value over time as players realize how good the effect is.

Recap of Spoiled Cards

|
Starting Price: $2
Current Price: $4

Thoughts:
I was bullish on this card, and it’s doubled in value since yesterday. I believe it might still have a little it can climb (to $5 maybe), but $3-$4 is the highest I would advise still paying for it up until release.

Starting Price: $1
Current Price: $4

Thoughts:
I called this card a bulk rare yesterday, and it quadrupled in price in one day, to $4. I have to say—I’m sticking with my initial assessment of . Most Legacy players seem to think it won’t make a splash in Legacy Goblins (where it would probably be at its best, combined with Goblin Piledriver). It’s with an ability tacked on that requires you to control at least two other creatures to even get an effect. I just think that people are going to be set up for a big fall on , as I think he’s too fragile to really make a big impact on Constructed.
