Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC) and Oyun Mühendisi Cafe, check out a legendary Human Ninja that packs an Extirpate with upside from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty — Kotose, the Silent Spider!
When Kotose, the Silent Spider enters the battlefield, exile target card in an opponent’s graveyard other than a basic land card. Search that player’s graveyard, hand, and library for any number of cards with the same name as that card and exile them. Then that player shuffles. For as long as you control Kotose, you may play one of the exiled cards, and you may spend mana as thought it were many of any color to cast it.
There have been many iterations of Extirpate and Lobotomy-type cards, but Kotose goes a step further. On top of effectively casting Extirpate with the enters-the-battlefield trigger, Kotose lets you play one of the exiled cards as long as you still control her. While five mana is a lot more than one, Kotose also provides you a 4/4 creature that just so happens to be legendary, so Commander players can get their Ninja fix.
So what do you think of Kotose, the Silent Spider? Is this the Ninja commander you’ve been waiting for or will it slot into another deck? Let us know what you think in the comments.
