Whenever Spring-Leaf Avenger deals combat damage to a player, return target permanent card from your graveyard to your hand.
Magic has recently switched up its Regrowth-type effects with them mostly focusing on returning permanent cards and Spring-Leaf Avenger is in line with that philosophy. A five-mana 6/5 isn’t that impressive, but having a repeatable source of permanent recursion is quite powerful, especially when it comes with a ninjutsu ability. And with green only having a few Ninjas to utilize their ninjutsu ability, opponents might not be expecting the tricky switcheroo.
