Zhang earned an invite to the Strixhaven Championship and $1,500 by winning the 299 person event by winning twelve straight matches after losing the first round of Swiss. Zhang was one of two players in the entire tournament on Naya Fury and entered the elimination rounds as the No. 7 seed. Zhang played the max amount of games possible in the Top 12, taking four matches 2-1, starting with a win over Kouta Ehara on Sultai Ramp (Yorion) in the wildcard round.
Zhang moved through the bracket with wins against Derek Pite on Naya Adventures (Jegantha) and Ricardo Mueller (Mono-Red Aggro❄) to reach the finals against Grand Prix champion Brandon Burton (Mono-Red Aggro❄). In the end, the Naya combo deck emerged victorious, putting it back on the map in the ever-rotating Standard format.
