WotC Seeking Diversity Equity & Inclusion Manager

In an attempt to “be better”, WotC is hiring a new DE&I Manager.

Vice President of Esports at Wizards of the Coast (WotC), Elaine Chase, has announced they are seeking to hire a Senior Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Manager.

According to the job description, the main responsibilities of the DE&I Manager will be “focusing on attracting, retaining, and developing talent that reflects our audiences and promoting an inclusive environment where employees throughout the company can perform at their best.”

The open position posting comes on the heels of several instances in which WotC has come under fire for alleged racially discriminatory behavior in their hiring practices, as well as depictions within Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons that they later deemed to be racist and banned from tournament play.

Last month, WotC made moves to address the depictions they deemed to be racist within Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, and this new position adds additional credence to their attempts to be a more inclusive company.
