Protection from black and from red
When Sanctifier en-Vec enters the battlefield, exile all cards that are black or red from all graveyards.
If a black or red permanent, spell, or card not on the battlefield would be put into a graveyard, exile it instead.
Whew, this card really doesn’t like black and red spells!
A two-mana 2/2, Sanctifier en-Vec is a great answer to the format’s black and red-based graveyard strategies, such as Rakdos Arcanist and Izzet Phoenix, and is also a strong blocker against aggressive red decks like Mono-Red Prowess. The card’s protections make it nearly impossible for these decks to deal with outside of a sweeper spell, and thanks to its static ability, it continues to exile any black and red spells that would otherwise be heading to the graveyard.
Also previewed alongside Sanctifier was an old favorite making its Modern debut as a rare — Fire // Ice!
