Chris Peeler was joined on Weekly MTG by Meris Mullaley and Max McCall, who worked on Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, to discuss the dungeon mechanic and show off some new cards.
The trio unveiled Cloister Gargoyle and Dungeon Crawler, two cards that care about venturing into and completing dungeons.
White will have the most venture into the dungeon cards, followed by blue and black, then finally red and green, as all colors will have some venturing. Cloister Gargoyle not only ventures but has a payoff when you complete a dungeon.
Dungeon Crawler is the latest take on a one-mana black creature that can come back from the dead. Dungeon Crawler is a Zombie that returns to your hand after you complete a dungeon.
Dungeons will be in the token slot of Draft Boosters and Set Boosters, prerelease packs will have all three, and there will be oversized versions of them available in the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms bundle.
Lastly, the trio talked about the new showcase frames called modules that look like old D&D adventures. The first module was previewed today by Polgyon, check out Evolving Wilds.
All modules will be land cards and will show up in packs just like other alternate frames from previous sets.
Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms is scheduled for release on July 23. View our official preview gallery.
