Lurrus of the Dream-Den and Yorion, Sky Nomad decks took the whole Top 8 of the Pioneer Super Qualifier on Friday, shoving out all other companions and decks without them like Lotus Breach or classic Dimir Inverter. TheSaberVault won the event with Lurrus Abzan Rally, notching another win for the revamped deck from Standard of years past, defeating Lurrus Orzhov Auras in the hands of MindOfAKid in the finals 2-0.

One other Lurrus deck, Boros Burn, made Top 8, leaving the rest of the field to be Yorion decks. Two copies of the 80-card Dimir Inverter variant reached the elimination rounds, as well as Bant Control, Azorius Devotion, and Five-Color Niv-Mizzet, played by RNGspecialist.

Niv-Mizzet decks saw some play before the release of Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, but the new, expanded version gets even more creative with card choices. Yorion gets to flicker all kinds of goodies, including Siege Rhino, Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves, Oath of Kaya, Trial of Ambition, and the namesake Niv-Mizzet Reborn.
