Song Of Creation Illustrator Shows Unique Process

Take a look at the creative process behind one of Ikoria: Lair of Behemoth’s most stunning artworks from Noah Bradley himself

Artist Noah Bradley released a YouTube video breaking down his process of painting Song of Creation from Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths along with a time-lapse video showing the start from thumbnail sketches all the way to finishing touches.

Bradley covers everything from the initial idea, the struggle with finding the right sketch, the experimentation with mediums, and how he focused on getting all of the colors from the color identity into the piece. Other tidbits include how he and other Magic artists have no idea what the card does when given the art description to how the piece took from 30 to 40 hours to complete.

Lastly, Bradley noted how this will be his first piece from Magic that he will keep for his personal collection. As the model for the piece was his wife in her wedding dress, Bradley feels a deep connection with the painting and will hold onto it.
