Rosewater Releases Set Teaser For MTG’s Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

Mark Rosewater shares his teaser for the upcoming MTG set Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

Magic: The Gathering Head Designer, Mark Rosewater, has released his list of teasers for the upcoming set Innistrad: Midnight Hunt.

Three popular mechanics previously seen on Innistrad return.

While intentionally vague, the prospect of certain iconic mechanics returning is an exciting one. In original Innistrad block, we had flashback, curses, morbid, undying, flip cards, and more. Then, in our second visit, we had delirium, investigate, madness, etc. It’s unlikely Rosewater would include an evergreen mechanic like fight among the returning three, so fingers crossed we get a sweet combination (I’m personally hoping for flashback, undying, and morbid).

A popular Innistrad card gets reprinted.

Put on your speculation caps, it’s time to play “what’s in the box set!” Innistrad had some of the most powerful and iconic creatures in Magic history, so let’s look at a few possibilities.

Let me dream, ok? All seriousness, there’s probably no way any of these get reprinted, but who knows. I think we’d be more likely to get an impactful but not format-warping reprint like Stromkirk Noble, Avacyn’s Pilgrim, or Invisible Stalker.

A popular tournament card in multiple formats gets reprinted with its fifth piece of art.

This teaser really piqued my interest, but my guess is as good as yours. Be sure to let us know your speculations in the comments.

Rosewater also shared a list of confirmed creature types that will be in the set.

• Creature – Hippogriff Spirit

• Creature – Human Soldier Werewolf

• Creature – Dragon Egg

• Creature – Leech Horror

• Creature – Fungus Horror

• Creature – Plant Horror

• Creature – Drake Horror

• Creature – Demon Dog

So what do you think of these teasers? Which one’s interest you the most? Let us know in the comments!
