When Obsidian Charmaw enters the battlefield, destroy target nonbasic land an opponent controls.

Obsidian Charmaw is the bane of many a deck in Modern. While it starts out as the typical five-mana, 4/4, flying Dragon, it trades out haste in favor of enter the battlefield land destruction; an ability that is far from common on most creatures, let alone Dragons. Additionally, nonbasic lands that generate colorless mana are prevalent in Modern, such as Cavern of Souls in Humans and Urza’s Tower, Power Plant, and Mine in Tron, making Charmaw a powerful, often discounted threat against some of the formats more popular strategies.
