Heritage Auctions concluded their Trading Card Games and Manga Signature Auction late last month, headlined by a complete PSA Gem Mint 10 Pokémon First Edition Base Set which sold for a record-breaking $1,218,750.

The incredible 102-card collection doesn’t stop with just the high-dollar holofoils either. Every card, from the set’s most coveted rares down to the basic energies, are present and boast PSA’s highest possible grade.

“It takes extreme dedication, resources and patience over the course of years to find every single Pokémon from the set in top condition. I was glad to see the price show that buyers understood the incredible rarity of some of these cards and appreciated the work it took to create such an impressive assemblage.”

Jesus Garcia, HA Trading Card Games Managing Director

According to Heritage, the $1,218,750 transaction is the new “…record price paid for such a set in a public sale…” and contributed heavily to the $7,894,456 combined total of items sold during June’s Trading Card Games and Manga Signature Auction.
