Proxy Bids Rise As Alpha Art Auction Dates Near

Five original pieces of art from first Magic set set to auction off on Nov. 9.

The auction dates for five original pieces of art from Alpha are just more than a week away and proxy bids for one of the most iconic cards is closing in on six figures.

The art for Demonic Tutor, Contract From Below, Jayemdae Tome, Mana Flare, and Fear are all scheduled to go the auction block at Heritage Auctions on Nov. 9 – Nov. 12. Douglas Schuler’s Demonic Tutor leads the group with a proxy bid of $77,500. Schuler’s Contract From Below is at $36,000, followed by Christopher Rush’s Mana Flare at $31,000, Mark Tedin’s Jayemdae Tome at $31,000, and Mark Poole’s Fear at $17,500.
