Magic: The Gathering has revealed promotional cards for upcoming Regional Championship Qualifier, Regional Championship, and Magic Spotlight events.
Regional Championship Qualifiers
The first pair of promotional cards will be handed out at Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQs) held between April 12 and July 20. While supplies last, all RCQ participants will receive a nonfoil Prosperous Innkeeper card, illustrated by Portland-based illustrator Brett Stenson. RCQ Top Finishers will also receive a nonfoil Fauna Shaman, illustrated by embroidery artist Nature Nurture, while those who earn qualifications to the Regional Championship will also receive a foil Fauna Shaman.
Regional Championships
All players competing in the Regional Championships offering qualifications for Pro Tour Edge of Eternities, including those for the United States hosted at SCG CON Minneapolis, May 2-4, and SCG CON Hartford, May 16-18, will receive a nonfoil promo Living End illustrated by Nathan Jurevicius, an Annie Award-nominated Australian artist and director. Top Finishers will also receive foil versions of the Living End promo.
Magic Spotlights
Wizards of the Coast also announced two promos to celebrate Magic Spotlights, massive open-entry events where anyone can battle through the rounds and qualify for the Pro Tour.
Magic Spotlight: Dragons will be held April 11-13 as part of SCG CON Denver. All entrants will receive a nonfoil promo Sword of Forge and Frontier with exquisite new artwork by fan-favorite Magic illustrator Sam Guay. The Top 128 finishers will also receive a foil copy of the promo.
Magic Spotlight: Secret Lair will follow on May 30 – June 1, as part of SCG CON Indianapolis. All entrants will receive a nonfoil promo Garruk Wildspeaker card illustrated by the French writer, artist, and animator Merwan Chabane, better known to comic book fans as only “Merwan”. As at Magic Spotlight: Dragons, the Top 128 players will also receive a foil version of the promo.
