Magma Opus deals 4 damage divided as you choose among any number of targets. Tap two target permanents. Create a 4/4 blue and red Elemental creature token. Draw two cards.
U/R U/R, Discard Magma Opus: Create a Treasure Token.
Most comparable to the Ultimatum cycle from Kaldheim, Magma Opus costs one more mana than the powerful cycle but is an instant where Ultimatums are sorceries. Despite being eight mana, control decks should be able to find room for a copy or two. It also shouldn’t be overlooked that you can discard Magma Opus to create a Treasure token, which significantly reduces the risk of it getting stranded in your hand in the early-game like other similarly-costed spells.
