Wizards of the Coast (WotC) released its monthly MTG Arena State of the Game article today and covered the upcoming Standard rotation as well as the new UI updates for Innistrad: Midnight Hunt.

Rotation And Renewal Awards

With the release of the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt update on Thursday, players will earn their renewal rewards and venture into a Standard format no longer populated with adventure cards from Throne of Eldraine and companions from Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. Standard will consists of Zendikar Rising, Kaldheim, Strixhaven: School of Mages, Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, and Innistrad: Midnight Hunt.

As long as a player logs into their MTG Arena account before Thursday, they will be able to claim their renewal awards following the update to the client. The renewal egg gives players 10 rare or mythic rare individual card rewards (ICRs) from Standard 2022 sets, up to 10 uncommon ICRs from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, up to three additional mythic rare ICRs from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, and a special card sleeve upon reaching level 31 of the Set Mastery or Mastery Pass.

New Visuals For Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Mechanics

MTG Arena will introduce new visual reminders for when the game switches from day or night.

On top of the animations, there will also be an emblem notification on the left side of the screen that players can hover over to get more information.

Cards in your graveyard with disturb will show up next to your hand, much like cards with escape, flashback, or adventure do currently. Players can also hover over the card to see the front of the card and what the card will transform into when the disturb cost is paid.
