Renowned Magic: The Gathering Artist, Seb McKinnon, has sold his original Mythos paintings from Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths for $61,000!
The cave painting inspired pieces were created using acrylic and pumice, and are presented on birch wood panels, each of which are 30×40 inches in size.
A majority of the pieces were sold to anonymous buys, with the highest individual piece, “Mythos of Illuna”, selling for $16,000. McKinnon’s other cave painting piece – Essence Scatter – also sold for $8,000, despite not being a part of the Mythos cycle.
McKinnon plans to put the money towards funding his feature-length film “KIN Fables: The Stolen Child”. Fans can also support his work directly through his Kickstarter campaign.
