Platinum Angle is a beloved card from tournament halls to kitchen tables. What if it only cost three mana and could stop being a creature? Cloudsteel Kirin is the latest take on cards that keep you from losing and your opponents from winning. For three mana you have a more fragile creature, but also an evasive threat that can sidestep creature removal altogether.
A reconfigure cost of five is a bit pricy and a big commitment during your main phase, but the payoff is substantial if you can equip a tough-to kill creature with it. While the creature form of Cloudsteel Kirin doesn’t grant you the ability, by being payable in installments you can get the effect earlier than usual.
