Kaervek was mentioned on cards in Mirage, but didn’t get his first card until Time Spiral. The Human Warlock is back, now at four mana for a 3/2 with quite the passive ability.
Other creatures get -1/-1.
Spiteful, indeed. Notably Kaervek says all other creatures, meaning even your own. When he is on the battlefield, everything else will shrink, ideally leaving Kaervek to tower over the rest. On the surface, he looks like a great way to hose token strategies, but can also combo with many other removal spells to help kill larger creatures.
