Jumpstart Launch Delayed Until July

Due to shipping delays caused by COVID-19, the release of Jumpstart has been delayed.

Wizards of the Coast (WotC) has announced that due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, Jumpstart, has been delayed until July 17 – 19.

According to WotC, the decision to reschedule the set’s launch is due to shipping delays caused by COVID-19. Additionally, prerelease events for Jumpstart have been removed in favor of Launch events. A calendar of important upcoming events can be found below.

  • June 26Core Set 2021 Prerelease, Core Set 2021 Magic Arena Release, Jumpstart Magic Arena Release
  • July 3Core Set 2021 Release
  • July 17-19Jumpstart Launch Event

Despite a number of product releases being delayed, WotC is confident paper Magic will bounce back swiftly, and intends to “return to better lining up our tabletop and digital releases once we can ensure the continued health and safety of those who help make our game possible.”
