The latest take on a Courser of Kruphix/Oracle of Mul Daya design is here and it’s a 2/3 Human with coven. Let’s break it down.

You may look at the top card of your library any time.

You may play lands from the top of your library.

Coven — As long as you control three or more creatures with different powers, you may cast creature spells from the top of your library.

Three mana for a creature with the ability to let you play lands from the top of your library or play an extra land per turn is about the norm these days. Augur of Autumn opts for the land off the top variation with an added coven bonus that could allow it to shine. If you control three creatures with different powers, not only can you play lands from the top of your library but creatures as well. This makes Augur of Autumn powerful in the early-game for finding land drops and great in the late-game when digging for more action is more important than an extra land. Being a Human also gives Augur of Autumn any tribal Humans synergy and benefits that are sure to come from sets on Innistrad.

What do you think of Augur of Autumn? How much better or worse is this card than Courser of Kruphix or something like Dryad of the Ilysian Grove?

Innistrad: Midnight Hunt is currently scheduled for release on September 24. View our official preview gallery.
