Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast (WotC), check out the green planeswalker representative from Core Set 2021 — Garruk, Unleashed!
After spending some quality time on Eldraine, it appears the curse on Garruk has finally been lifted, and he has returned to claim his rightful place as the mono-green Core Set planeswalker. Coming in at four mana and four starting loyalty, Garruk, Unleashed’s abilities help support a pre-established battlefield and, if left unchecked, will quickly end the game.
+1: Up to one target creature gets +3/+3 and gains trample until end of turn.
Essentially a free Giant Growth each turn, this ability applies a lot of pressure thanks to trample combined with high-attack creatures.
-2: Create a 3/3 green Beast creature token. Then, if an opponent controls more creatures than you, put a loyalty counter on Garruk, Unleashed.
Often times this ability will be used when a blocker is needed, so the chances of gaining back a point of loyalty are already high, and while the one extra point may seem insignificant, it allows for the possibility of two subsequent activations.
In multiplayer formats, Garruk’s minus ability gets even better, in that it checks for each opponent, meaning the more players, the more chances for earning back loyalty.
-7: You get an emblem with “At the beginning of your end step, you may search your library for a creature card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library.”
If you’re able to get Garruk to his ultimate ability, it’s likely game over. Being able to pull any creature from your deck once per turn is very powerful and will likely result in the opponent conceding in no time.
