Gavin Verhey used today’s episode of Good Morning Magic to introduce the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty soundtrack and interview the lead producer on the album.
The newest Magic set has a soundtrack for the first time in the game’s history and it’s available on your favorite streaming platform. Proceeds from purchases and streams will go directly to the independent musicians featured on the soundtrack. Verhey brought Young on to GMM to talk about the creative process of writing, producing, and performing songs about Magic and Kamigawa, specifically.
Young covered his introduction to Magic and his background in music before diving into a song-by-song breakdown of each track on the soundtrack. After he highlighted insights from the origin of each song, Verhey played a sampling of each track. When they wrapped up, Young went over some of his favorite Commander decks.
