With Strixhaven: School of Mages preview season kicking off tomorrow, Gavin Verhey used today’s episode of Good Morning Magic to show off the remaining two Commander deck professors and more card teasers.
First up today is a pair of professors from Quandrix, the college centered around math, Adrix and Nev. These Merfolk that grew up together and now teach together will be the faces of the blue and green Commander deck.
Breena, a bird warlock, is the professor from Silverquill, the black and white college that is all about the power of words. Breena is a powerhouse of charisma that is an elite mage, but would rather defeat foes with the power of words.
Here are the six card hints from new Strixhaven cards in the Commander decks.
- Permanent with an ability that begins “whenever a kraken, leviathan, octopus, or serpent …”
- Card that does something for X where X is equal to your commander’s mana value.
- Card that asks you to secretly chose an opponent.
- Card that gives named counters that act like a popular multiplayer cycle.
- Legendary creature that has three different tap abilities.
- New card with the storm mechanic.
