Gavin Verhey used today’s episode of Good Morning Magic to go over they history of everyone’s favorite Homunculus — Fblthp!
Fblthp’s story began in Gatecrash, appearing in the art of Totally Lost and being referenced in the flavor text.
From the moment players caught a glimpse of the one-eyed creature on an innocuous common, support and love has flowed for the Homunculus. WotC responded to the attention by finding ways to put him in more content — whether it be cards, viral videos, and even a plushie.
From then on, WotC has found ways to insert Fblthp into cards. If the art takes place on Ravnica, there is always a chance he could show up.
After six years of existence, Fblthp landed his own card in War of the Spark.
